A native of Wyoming, I was born and raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and have lived in the great state of Wyoming my entire life. In 1996, I married my high-school sweetheart and moved to Laramie, Wyoming, to continue my college education. In 2003, my husband and I moved to Casper, Wyoming, and were blessed with a baby boy. In 2004, we moved back to Rock Springs and that is where we hang our hats to this day.
After high school, I attended Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs where I received my AAS in Office Information Systems in 1993. I continued my education at WWCC until I relocated to Laramie to attend the University of Wyoming. In 1999, I received my BA in Communications & Mass Media (minoring in graphic design, marketing, and business administration). I continued my education at the University of Wyoming receiving my MS in e.Business in 2001. While in Casper, I freelanced and enjoyed being a new stay-at-home mom. When we moved back to Rock Springs in 2004, I continued to freelance and began teaching as an adjunct instructor at Western Wyoming Community College, where my college adventure had begun. Currently I am a full-time assistant professor in Business Information Systems and Computer Science where I get to teach courses including Computer Information Systems; Introduction to Information Management; Digital Design Technologies courses such as Intro to Digital Design Technologies, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat; Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Publisher; Business Communications; Office Systems and Procedures; and various programming and web development classes.
In my time away from campus, I am a Scout mom. I have served as the committee chair for my son's Troop and I currently serve as the Communications and Public Relations Chair of the Jim Bridger District within the Trapper Trails Council based in Ogden, UT. Occasionally I enjoy a freelancing job, but usually it is donating my time and creativity - unfortunately I don't make much if any money as a freelance designer anymore. I enjoy taking pictures and lurking on social media sites, but my favorite thing is spending time with my family. We enjoy camping, kayaking, riding ATVs, target shooting, golfing, watching sports, and cheering on our Wyoming Cowboys. GO POKES!
